On the 27th of June 2019, cPanel announced a new account-based pricing model which basically changed the way customers are billed and resulted in a price increase up to ~2000%. The new account-based pricing model will affect every hosting provider using cPanel. Some of the hosting providers already announced the new pricing policy and the ones that didn't do it yet will do it in the next couple of days.
A cPanel price increase was expected by the hosting industry because the prices have never been changed since cPanel was founded more than 20 years ago. At the same time, the inflation, salaries and all expenses generally have increased gradually in the last 10 years. That's why it was clear and normal for such an increase to happen.
Everyone knows that shared hosting, reseller hosting, VPS hosting and dedicated hosting costs will increase. Everyone will be affected differently depending on the number of accounts they have on their servers. Every hosting company will have to pay $0.20 or 80 Naira extra for each account over 100 on each cPanel server they run. The new prices get into effect on the 1st of September 2019. At http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1770316 there is a long discussion going where you can see many CEO’s of hosting companies mad with the change and looking for alternatives as all reputable hosting companies switched to virtual machines and the new pricing model will result in a huge increase which is in times higher than what providers used to pay.
Since OneNet Servers Hosting was founded we have made several improvements to the services without a burdensome price change ranging from more than 80% webspace increase to unlimited bandwidth, load balancing, client renewal reminder and added security layers.
Due to the cPanel price increase, we are forced to adjust the prices of all web hosting plans powered by the cPanel control panel. The new prices will be effective from the 1st of September 2019. All pre-paid services will keep the old pricing until their renewal date. Services that expire before the 1st of September 2019 can be renewed for 1 month on the old price. All cPanel hosting services which expire after the 1st of September 2019 will renew on the new prices which will be made available on our website in a few days.
The new pricing will affect Reseller account owners as well.
